Accommodations

Key Information

bunch of keys

Inquiries and requests for accommodations are best made as early as possible by the student to achieve the best possible outcomes.

  • Requests for academic accommodations: Students are strongly encouraged to make a request prior to the start of the academic term whenever possible.
  • Requests for housing/dining accommodations: New students are strongly encouraged to make a request by the end of June (for the upcoming Fall term) in order to receive priority consideration. Returning students can make requests for accommodations in February (for the upcoming Fall term) prior to the housing lottery being conducted.

Supportive documentation is required for the Office of Student Accessibility to provide accommodation requests.

Once the accommodation requests have been approved, instructors will informed.

It is the student's prerogative to share accessibility needs and/or health information with instructors.

Tips for Faculty to Help Students with Accessibility Needs

  • Make student materials available as soon as possible to facilitate student learning, for example at least four weeks prior to the first day of class
  • Provide students with alternative methods to receive lecture materials, e.g., post lecture notes online, provide transcripts, allow students to record class lectures, etc
