Copyright Guidelines: Open Access

This libguide will give basic copyright advice for faculty, staff and students.

Understanding Open Access

Open Educational Resources Logo As you are aware, Open Educational Resources provide legitimate tools. But not all resources are alike, nor do they have the same level of copyright permissions.

Open access is a movement that encourages making scholarly resources more freely available over the internet. The goal is to maximize the impact of research, particularly research that has been funded with public money.

The OhioLINK System contains open access materials to the OhioLINK Catalog. OhioLINK follows specific and stringent guidelines for the materials loaded into the system to ensure that copyright violations for shared use will not occur.

For more information about Open Educational Resources, see the OA/OER Libguide.
